UK Semiconductor Centre Workshop, Cambridge – 5 December 2025
This Workshop was organised by the newly formed UK Semiconductor Centre which will have a hub in London.
The UK Semiconductor Centre was announced as part of the Modern Industrial Strategy in June 2025. The concept was recommended by the IfM in 2023, following their consultation into infrastructure, which was further supported through industry discussions with Techworks, DSIT and many other stakeholders. The missions and activities of the UKSC are drawn from the recommendations.
The UK Semiconductor Centre has stated five main missions:
- International Partnerships
- Scale-up
- Ecosystem and Advocacy
- Strategy and Roadmap
- Workforce and Skills
The objectives of the Workshop were to:
- Mapping regional challenges and prioritised needs
- Shaping the priorities for the Centre’s first 5 years based on local needs
