World Micromachining Summit, University of Southampton – 14 -17 June 2026

Join Global Leaders at MMS2026: The 29th World Micromachining Summit

You are invited to attend the 29th World Micromachining Summit (MMS2026), hosted this year at the University of Southampton from 14-17 June 2026. As innovations in Semiconductors, AI, and Quantum Computing accelerate, the advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration of these micro- and nanotechnologies (MNT) are more crucial than ever for real-world application. This prestigious summit brings together prominent global experts from academia, industry, and government to discuss cutting-edge research, policy frameworks, and the current state of MNT integration. For microelectronics and packaging professionals, MMS2026 provides an invaluable collaborative forum to network with international leaders, explore world-wide technology snapshots, and help shape the next-generation assembly solutions that will bring complex micro-nano systems to life.

Call for Proposals: Pilot Study to Investigate Barriers to Increasing the Diversity of the Semiconductor Research Workforce

REWIRE and its partners are seeking to better understand the barriers to increased diversity of the UK semiconductor workforce and the actions are needed to overcome them. We are inviting applications for an EDI pilot study, which will gather data and insights to uncover structural barriers and inform targeted interventions to drive a more inclusive and sustainable talent pipeline for the sector.

  • REWIRE: The Next Generation of Power Semiconductors: From Concept to Commercialisation
  • CHIMES: The Innovation and Knowledge Centre for Heterogeneous Integration of MicroElectronic and Semiconductor Systems
  • National Epitaxy Facility: Providing High Quality Epitaxy Wafers
  • CS Hub: The Compound Semiconductor Manufacturing Hub for a Sustainable Future

The Semiconductor Partners are seeking an additional partner with expertise in equality, diversity and inclusion (the EDI Partner) to lead a pilot study to investigate current barriers to increasing the diversity of the technical workforce in the semiconductor sector.

They aim to collaborate with the EDI Partner and to provide expertise about the semiconductor sector and access to a broad cohort of the current workforce who can provide insights into their experience in the sector. This cohort includes researchers who are minoritised in the sector.
