IMAPS-UK: Electronics for Extreme Environments Conference: 30 June to 1 July 2026

The IMAPS-UK Electronics for Extreme Environments Conference will be an In Person Event held on Tuesday 30th June and Wednesday 1 July 2026 at Churchill College, Cambridge, CB3 0DS, United Kingdom.

The Electronics for Extreme Environments 2026 Conference focuses on Electronics That Must Endure. This in-person Conference combines invited Keynotes, Presentations and Posters from leading Industrial Companies, Academics and Research Institutions developing sensors, semiconductors, components, energy sources, packaging and assemblies that must perform reliably under extreme conditions, including high and low temperatures, high field strengths, severe mechanical and environmental conditions and ultra-long life electronics. This Conference follows on from and extends the High Temperature Electronics Network (HITEN).

The Electronics for Extreme Environments 2026 Conference will provide examples of the implementation of electronics packaging in challenging applications, where electronics and sensors must improve the control of energy intensive processes, ensure safety in hostile industrial environments, work reliably in extreme natural conditions and provide security in critical applications.

The Electronics for Extreme Electronics Conference 2026 aims to provide the Delegates with an opportunity to learn from and network with leading Industry and Academic Speakers as they share their experiences, developments and opportunities.

Travel Fund for PhD and Undergraduate Students – Open for Application

The Electronics for Extreme Environments organising team is pleased to announce that some funds are available to support economy rail travel and public transport costs for UK-based PhD and Undergraduate students attending the Electronics for Extreme Environments Conference 2026, subject to an eligible case being submitted by PhD and Undergraduate Supervisors. The Supervisor will need to e-mail the IMAPS-UK Office to confirm that their student does not have access to institutional funds to cover travel costs. Applications will be responded to as soon as possible, with payments being made after the Conference.

i-EDGE Workshop on Nanomechanical Relays for Extreme Environments on Thursday 2 July 2026

This morning workshop after the Electronics for Extreme Environments will explain how the silicon NEM Switch technology developed in the i-EDGE Project has the potential to create low power chips for extreme temperatures (0K-350C) or high radiation (to 10 Mrad).
