This is the fourth in a series of Fundamentals of Electronics Packaging Tutorials organised by IMAPS-UK (International Microelectronics, Assembly and Packaging Society) to describe various aspects of the production of micro-electronic assemblies.
New Product Introduction for Micro-Electronics
Allan Proudfoot – ALP Consulting
Allan presents an overview of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process covering product definition, design philosophy, verification/validation and the challenges of working with partners.
The presentation includes concepts such as the reduction of time-to-money by working in co-operation with customers and other interested parties.
Allan will share his experience of working in various market areas, including commercial, telecom, automotive, military and medical sectors. He will also discuss the different mindsets and information required to achieve the best results and consistent performance in these sectors.
Allan Proudfoot is a Quality Consultant, owner of ALP Quality Consulting and a Director of Medilink South West.
Prior to setting up the consultancy in 2019, Allan spent more than 30 years in the Semiconductor sector with over 25 years in Quality Management, including responsibility for military hi-rel ICs, Bluetooth and WiFi ICs for commercial and automotive applications, high power switches, and low power radio ICs deployed in implantable medical devices for human life support applications.
Areas of responsibility covered business practices, product qualification, manufacturing, and R&D from product conception to obsolescence.
The Tutorial will run for 30 minutes including a question and answer session. The Tutorials are limited to 100 delegates.
