iPower6 Conference – British Motor Museum – Thursday 28 November 2024
IMAPS-UK’s iPower6 Conference will take place on Thursday 28 November 2024 at the British Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire, CV35 0BJ in an in-person format.
The iPower6 Conference will address some of the most significant challenges to be faced by a wide range of electrical and electronic based industries in the next decade. Achieving reliable and fully functional products to market will require electronic and electrical packaging solutions that can operate at higher currents and voltages, faster frequencies and increased temperatures. This conference will hear from OEMs, material and equipment suppliers and academia about the current and future solutions to meet these demanding requirements.
The iPower6 Conference aims to provide the Delegates with an opportunity to learn from and network with leading Industry Experts and Exhibitors as they share their experiences, developments and opportunities. There will also be an opportunity to visit the British Motor Museum on conclusion of the Conference.
A Heterogeneous Integration – Silicon and Glass Interposer Workshop is being organised together with the INTERPOSE-UK project team to provide an understanding of how they can be applied in advanced electronics packaging as a key step between 2D and 3D assembly on the afternoon of Wednesday 27 November 2024, preceding the IPower6 Conference. Registration is available through the following link – Interposer Workshop Link, where attendees at the IPower6 Conference will receive a discounted entry price.

Driving the Electric Revolution – Industrialisation Centres
Driving the Electric Revolution Industrialisation Centres (DER-IC) are a UK-wide network of over 30 Universities and Research and Technology Organisations (RTO).
DER-IC’s mission is to grow UK manufacturing in Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD).
By using DER-IC network equipment and capability, supply chain partners can develop and verify manufacturing process and product performance ahead of capital investment, reduce cost and risk of new product introduction, and achieve a faster time to market.
DER-IC facilitates targeted introductions to expedite access to the most relevant researchers, engineers and capability across the partner network.
DER-IC was established in 2020. The funding was provided through UK Research and Innovation’s Challenge Fund delivered by Innovate UK. Part of this investment established the DER-IC network, led by Newcastle University and operating from regional centres in the North East, the Midlands, the South West and Wales, and Scotland.
DER-IC supports industry with capabilities that include:
- Power semiconductor packaging, and device electrical and thermal test
- Prototype Manufacture and Scale-up Support
- Material and Component Characterisation
- In-Process and End-of-Line Test and Validation
- Manufacturing Process Development and Optimisation
- Product and Manufacturing Equipment Design
- Electrification Skills Learning and Development
