IMAPS-UK Altogether, better connected!

National Advanced Semiconductor Packaging and Integration Centre Webinar – Wednesday 16 September 2026 – 10:00 – 11:00 UK

Market Demand Study for Advanced Semiconductor and Photonics Packaging – Your Chance to Provide Input to Future Needs

This is a free to join webinar, please book a place below.

The National Advanced Semiconductor Packaging and Integration Centre (NASPIC) is a UK-owned, open-access innovation, industrialisation, and scale-up centre dedicated to advancing semiconductor packaging and integration technologies. Working collaboratively with industry, government, and academia, NASPIC helps organisations bridge the gap between research, innovation, and manufacturing by accelerating technology development, supporting the reshoring of high-value semiconductor packaging activities, and connecting commercial opportunities into supply chains.

To further enhance its capabilities, NASPIC is undertaking a major expansion through Glasgow City Region Innovation Zone funding that will add a 600m² ISO 5 (Class 100) cleanroom. This next-generation facility will enable the packaging and integration of emerging technologies, including photonics, high-performance computing (HPC), CMOS, edge AI, and quantum systems. These capabilities will position NASPIC as a nationally important asset and a leading UK centre for advanced semiconductor packaging innovation, industrialisation, and scale-up.

NASPIC will deliver an open access advanced packaging capability for Power Electronics, Photonics, Radio Frequency (RF), quantum and advanced Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) for High-Performance Computing (HPC) and AI, with test and metrology, and a common end to end workflow to enable commercial scale up.

NASPIC is a strategically significant initiative designed to enhance the UK’s capabilities in advanced semiconductor and photonics packaging, supporting innovation, economic growth and supply chain resilience.

Located in Glasgow at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), NASPIC Is establishing a team of engineers and process technicians focused on helping industry, government and academia to advance semiconductor and photonics packaging processes, reshore high value packaging of semiconductors and photonics and channel commercial opportunities into supply chains.

The facility aims to:

  • Be a UK-owned, open-access innovation and scale-up capability for advanced semiconductor and photonics packaging and integration
  • Operate with an open access model, time and materials costs, pay to play models of operation
  • Validate PDKs through packaging and reliability testing
  • Problem-shoot current packaging issues
  • Benchmark alternative lead frames, substrates, wire materials, mould compounds
  • Establish tested and proven packaging process parameters

IMAPS-UK is undertaking part of the Market Demand Study with Interested Parties to ensure that their views are represented and acted upon in the setup of the NASPIC Facility.

We would like to invite you to participate in a Webinar from 10:00 – 11:00 on Wednesday 16 September 2026 to hear about progress of the project and receive your input on the future direction of the initiative.

The Webinar will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction to proposed Packaging Facility for Photonics and Advanced Semiconductor applications by Christine Dent, NASPIC
  • Question and Answer session
  • Gather initial feedback on Market Demand for Proposed Facility through in-meeting polls and post-Webinar online questionnaire
  • Request for Approval to Follow-up more Detailed Interview

Your involvement in the initiative is vital to the success of the project to provide evidence of demand by UK industry to benefit from the investment in the NASPIC Facility.

Registration for the Webinar is open below.
