PEPTUS Training Workshop – Power Electronics Packaging – Training and Upskilling – Thursday 16 June 2022
A Training Workshop on the Design, Testing and Reliability Aspects of Power Electronics Manufacturing at the CSA Catapult, Newport, South Wales.
IMAPS-UK is organising a full-day Power Electronics Packaging Training Workshop to provide a basic understanding of the design, testing and reliability issues involved in the assembly of power electronics components and modules that will form the basis of the Electric Revolution.
One of the most significant challenges will be the achievement of reliable and fully functional products that will require electronic and electrical packaging solutions that can operate at higher currents and voltages, faster frequencies and increased temperatures, which will place increasingly severe demands on the materials and assembly processes.
This workshop will focus on the fundamental aspects of power electronics packaging, explaining the design considerations, exploring the testing and reliability aspects and introducing the trends towards advanced packaging. This workshop will be complemented with a tour of the facilities at the CSA Catapult.
The workshop will address the training needs of students and researchers within Colleges and Universities and personnel within Industrial companies to assist in the upskilling and reskilling of people for the design, manufacture and testing of power modules. Attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance that can be used as proof of Continuous Professional Development.
The setting up of this Workshop has been supported by Innovate UK Project “Power Electronics Packaging – Training and Upskilling” and funded by the Driving the Electric Revolution Initiative, an ISCF Challenge delivered by UK Research and Innovation.
This Training Workshop will be delivered by Andy Longford of PandA Europe, Jayakrishnan Chandrappan of the CSA Catapult and Steve Riches of Tribus-D and will be run in a full-day session.
The Power Electronics Packaging Training Workshop will cover the following topics:
- Power Package Drivers
- Design for Power Packaging
- Capabilities at CSA Catapult
- Testing, Reliability and Future Trends
