Training Day – Die Attach and Wirebonding – Thursday 9 November 2023
Training Day at South Devon College, Paignton, TQ4 7EJ
This “ Unique” workshop event features a 3 session intensive training course in Die Attach and Wire Bond Processes, and includes a practical session where delegates will be allowed access to die attach and wirebonding equipment enabling them to build and test a small microelectronics assembly.
There will be a theoretical session to go through the details and and review process stages, materials and capabilities. A third session will investigate typical issues with the processes, including assembly test and aspects of available equipment. This session will allow delegates to discuss in a “surgery” manner, any process issues they have and consider typical case studies.
The sessions will be run consecutively in a “Round Robin” format to enable delegates to have sufficient time to work on the available equipment. Delegates will be split into 3 small groups of maximum 10 people per group to enable sufficient time access to equipment.
This course will enable attendees to gain an understanding of the practical and theoretical details of die attach and wirebonding for those needing re-skilling from adjacent industries or looking for an introduction to the subject of microelectronics and photonics packaging. Attendees can receive a Certificate of Attendance on request that can be used as proof of Continuous Professional Development.
The setting up of this Workshop has been supported by Innovate UK Project “Power Electronics Packaging – Training and Upskilling – PEPTUS”, which was funded by the Driving the Electric Revolution Initiative, an ISCF Challenge delivered by UK Research and Innovation.
This Training Day will be delivered by Martyn Davies of Davies and Bell, Andy Longford of PandA Europe, Jason Elder and Martin Richardson – Consultants and Steve Riches of Tribus-D starting at 08:30 and the workshop will finish at 16:00.
